Destiny 2: The Witch Queen just got a new trailer

We have a new trailer because the Destiny 2’s upcoming expansion Witch Queen! This time, we are transported through the throne world of sly Savathun, the giant swamp she calls home and filled with traps and all her secrets. As the Guardian, it looks like we’ll be defying the unknown to uncover everything she’s been hiding, fighting through her minions as we go.

This trailer is of course paired with a voiceover from Savathun herself, who taunts us with her power over her domain. In recognition of her credit, she tried to convince us to come back and go home, which was a nice upgrade over the usual reception we get!

If we decline that enticing offer, we can uncover what appears to be a diverse potential hazard. Of course, we see the swampy suburbs of Savathun’s world, as well as the regal structures that make up what we can only assume is the centerpiece of her cradle. Add to that the dark and damp caverns we’ve come to expect from beehives, and it looks like we’ve got a tour ahead of us.

For what can we gather story-wise from this trailer? Well, we hear Ikora talk about our place at the beginning of the trailer, which is to be expected since she’ll be very familiar with Savathun’s mischievous nature at this point.

We also see some of those weird black pyramid ships multiple times throughout the trailer. No doubt Savathun is messing with those as well, as it’s unlikely she’ll leave them lying around on her front lawn unchecked.

Aside from those little tidbits, we’re left with just one reminder that The Witch Queen expansion is out soon! Launching on February 22, we won’t have to wait long before joining the fight to the swamps of Savathun, where the goblins will no doubt await us.
