Prepare for Lightfall, Warden.

Season 20 of Destiny 2 is upon us, marking the beginning of the next chapter in Bungie’s powerhouse: Lightfall. The next expansion will be one of Bungie’s biggest yet, as Guardians will travel to Neomuna and dabble in the dark in preparation for the arrival of The Witness and the Shadow Legion.
Speaking of preparation, in Season 19 Bungie prepared the player base for what’s next. The last few months have been filled with communication regarding changes in the game economy and much more. Bungie isn’t done yet as the developer provides a glimpse of the changes, with much of the weapon tuning focusing on heavy weapons in PvE, some kinetic weapons, and the addition of subclass verbs to several exotic weapons.
Some of the key areas include bringing Linear Fusion Rifles back to reality with a 15% reduction in damage to champions, mini-bosses, bosses, and vehicles, although Sleeper Simulant and Queenbreaker are unaffected, the latter also having an Arc 3.0 Blind to get his shot. Machine guns will see a damage increase of around 10%, and grenade launchers will be given a bold understatement in most of their categories as this weapon class has been faltering for a while.
On the other hand, kinetic weapons will receive a buff based on whether or not they use primary or special ammo, as Bungie tries to encourage players to use kinetic weapons that aren’t strictly Stasis. A lot of exotics and perk terminology has been adjusted accordingly, with fans noting that Two-Tailed Fox could see some good changes. A nice little addition is that PC players can finally enjoy the Red Crosshairs expansion, which provides information on a weapon’s effective range.
There are many changes here that further show how committed Bungie is to shake up the gaming experience. Lightfall is out on February 28th, and with Bungie already working on updates for Seasons 21 and 22, stay with us Guardian as we keep you updated on everything you need to know.
