Details of EverQuest’s upcoming server merges announced in June

After a first announcement in the EverQuest 2022 roadmap, alongside the live update, there are now details on the upcoming server merges coming in June.
So which servers are affected? Phinigel and Miragul will say goodbye and merge with Vox. The merge is scheduled for June 15 at 6:00 p.m. PDT, but Darkpaw says up to 24 hours of downtime can be expected across all servers while the team completes both the merges and a live game update.
Players currently on Phinigel can request a free server transfer starting today, May 18th. This can be used to go to Vox earlier or to another server. Miragul players will not get this option due to this server’s previous free Heroic Character ruleset. However, you can buy a transfer if you don’t want to switch to Vox in June.
The team has also provided some more information on what to expect when you log into Vox after the June 15 downtime. For one thing, merges affect naming. So if your characters names already exist on Vox, this needs to be solved. This will not just be a blanket solution as they take player activity and engagement into account.
The player who logs in to their character within 60 days prior to the merge will keep the name, but if both players have logged in with the same character in the same 60 days. Then there will be another solution where the character with the highest number of minutes played with a character keeps the name. If your character ends up getting extra letters after merging, your character will be flagged for a free rename.
Guild halls and guilds will be intact after the merge, so when your server is merged you will find everything on Vox as expected. Properties will be merged onto the new server with no action required, although neighborhood names may change if there are conflicts.
