Although neither Rihanna nor A$AP Rocky have released an official post on their breakup, the whole internet conspired about their breakup. Only Amina Muaddi, who is said to be the person Rocky cheated on Rihanna with, has spoken out publicly on Instagram. “I have always believed that an unfounded lie spread on social media does not deserve an answer or clarification, especially when it is so heinous”.

The whole rumor started on Twitter via journalist and fashion influencer Louis Pisano’s @LOUIS_via_ROMA account. He published on Thursday that the businesswoman and the rapper had ended their relationship over an affair with Amina Muaddi. Just to be clear, Muaddi is a shoe designer and one of Rihanna’s employees at Fenty.

The designer mentioned in the same Instagram story that she didn’t feel it necessary to clarify that it was a rumor, but things got out of hand. Still, she had to speak up in less than twenty-four hours. The truth is, while Rihanna & A$AP won’t clarify if they’re actually breaking up or confirm it was all a rumor, we can’t believe anything.

How the rumor started

All we can do is share what is officially known so far, in such cases conspiring on unofficial facts is simply useless. Like all those magazines that ensure “a close source for the couple,” they’ve only denied the rumors or said they were true. When it comes to disproving a fact about a famous figure like Rihanna, anyone could be a supposedly anonymous source. Therefore we must return to the facts.

One of the rumors spreading is that Rihanna was spotted crying at a famous restaurant in Los Angeles after having dinner with A$AP. The official version of the person who started the rumor is that he, in turn, got this information from an anonymous source. His first tweet said the couple were splitting up because A$AP cheated on Rihanna with Amina Muaddi at Paris Fashion Week.

Something that can be a little strange but at the same time might mean nothing is the fact that Rihanna is not following Muaddi on Instagram. Why wouldn’t Rihanna follow one of her employees on Instagram? Well, she’s not forced to, is she? However, it can be a starting point to plot for an unoccupied mind. However, A$AP and Rihanna still follow each other and Muaddi follows them back.

One of the conspiracy theories is that A$AP kept communicating with Muaddi via Instagram, but there is literally no way to confirm or deny this. On the other hand, it looks like Pisano took back what he first tweeted: “Last night I made a stupid decision to tweet some information I had received”. Again he said at the end he would not reveal the source.

Though Pisano apologized in his tweet, he never actually denied it, and at this point we should already have a Rihanna & A$AP denial. Again, we won’t know if the scam or split is true until one of the main sources confirms it. However, this gossip and conspiracy should at least serve to recognize the ability of lies to spread and to make the audience more critical of their news consumption.

What if rumors were true?

Although deep down we know we can’t be sure, there is a part of our grief. Rihanna & A$AP are one of the most iconic couples right now and they’re having a baby soon, so fans are rightly furious about this conspiracy. However, if the rumors were true, it would definitely be tragic for our beloved Rihanna, but the truth is that she would be more than fine.

If the rumors were true, Rihanna would remain the gorgeous and talented billionaire she is while A$AP would be automatically canceled. Let’s hope this situation clears up soon and hopefully is the least damaging scenario for Rihanna.
