Tyson Fury retires after defeating Dillian Whyte

A photo of Tyson Fury’s stoppage win over Dillian Whyte appears to show the champion knocking out his rival’s tooth with his winning shot.

Fury landed a right uppercut in the closing seconds of round six at Wembley on Saturday night to stop Whyte and retain his world heavyweight title. Whyte was dropped to the canvas and although he rose on shaky legs, the fight was rightly dismissed by referee Mark Lyson.

And fans were convinced Whyte lost a tooth to add to his misery when his first World Cup challenge ended in failure. A fan even created one Twitter Report that claimed the tooth landed in Southampton, while another said: “Dillian Whyte’s tooth just landed in Watford.”

Fury later admitted he hadn’t noticed whether or not he had sent a pearly white flight as he basked in the glory of his second successful title defense. “I didn’t see it, to be honest,” he said. Fury dominated the fight from the start as Whyte struggled to gauge the distance between himself and the elusive champion.

And he insists that despite a potential undisputed clash, he has nothing left to prove Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk. “I’ve devoted 20 years to boxing, amateur and professional,” he said. “My brain has been blown, knocked out, dropped, cut, I’ve had tough fights, draws, wins, I’ve boxed worldwide.

It was never about money, I’m not a money person. I know a lot of people who have money, a lot of money, but none of them are happy, not one of them.

“Money can’t buy happiness, it wasn’t about belts, it wasn’t about legacies, it was about nothing but slapping a motherf***** in the face at night. All I ever want to do is win. “
