Disney Dreamlight Valley, a free-to-play Disney Life sim adventure, revealed for PC and consoles

Disney fans, buckle up. Today Gameloft revealed an upcoming new game project from Disney and Pixar, a life sim adventure game called Disney Dreamlight Valley. It will be released in 2023 for PC and consoles.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is set in the titular Dreamlight Valley, where a bevy of Disney and Pixar characters have lost their memories after a mysterious event called The Forgetting, leaving their village full of strange plants called Night Thorns. Players customize their own character, build friendships with the townsfolk and help them recover their lost memories.

As well as interacting with the Disney villagers, players can also customize their own homes and towns in a range of Disney locations, and follow Disney stories and mini-games featuring characters like Goofy, Ariel, Mickey, Simba, Moana, Remy and more. There are also fishing and cooking activities and plenty of outfits to customize characters inspired by various Disney properties.

Developed by Gameloft, Disney Dreamlight Valley is scheduled for release in 2023 as a free-to-play experience for Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC and Mac via Steam and Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store and App store. A pre-release is planned for this summer and will be made available to Founder’s Pack purchasers or to all Xbox Game Pass members.

We’ve had an early look at Disney Dreamlight Valley and are already optimistic about the level of customization available, replayability, fairly non-aggressive monetization, and the future potential for more Disney characters and worlds to appear.
