Disney Plus Star Wars TV Series Obi-Wan Kenobi Release Date Pushed To Friday

The much-anticipated TV series starring Ewan McGregor as the Jedi Master originally aired on Wednesdays but will now be released on Friday, May 27.

There will be plenty of lightsaber riots this Friday when the much-awaited Star Wars miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi finally premieres on Disney+.
Ewan McGregor reprises his role as the famous Jedi master, while his former protege Anakin Skywalker sees Hayden Christensen return to the series after last appearing 17 years ago in the Revenge Of The prequel Sith.
The new Obi-Wan Kenobi series is set a decade after the Sith, with Anakin now fully embracing the dark side following his grim transformation into the evil Darth Vader.
Two of the first six episodes will air on Friday (May 27), with the final episode airing in June.
A recent trailer for Obi, set in the wake of the prequel trilogy, shows our hero carefully watching a young Luke Skywalker raised as a child aboard the sandy Tatooine ship.
Luke’s uncle Owen Lars is discovered near a Heretics – lightsabers-wearing agents who stand before the Sith-ruled Galactic Empire.

In a cold voice, Obi-Wan warned ‘they’re coming’ before telling someone off-screen to ‘hide or you won’t survive’.
There are more than small snapshots of the menacing Inquisitors hunting Kenobi.

Fans will be pleased to see so many familiar faces in the cast, not just Ewan and Hayden but also Joel Edgerton taking on the role of Uncle Owen. Other cast members include Bonnie Piesse as Beru Whitesun Lars, Owen’s wife and Luke’s aunt.
Youngster Grant Feely appears as a young Luke, while Moses Ingram plays Reva, aka The Third Sister, an Inquisitor whose creator Joby Harold has vowed to ‘contribute to the legacy of the heroes. Star Wars villains in a really interesting way’.
British actor Rupert Friend plays the Grand Inquisitor, whom viewers may recognize from the Star Wars animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels, while Indira Varma plays an Imperial officer.

Other actors in Obi-Wan Kenobi include O’Shea Jackson Jr, Kumail Nanjiani, Benny Safdie, Simone Kessell, Maya Erskine and Rory Ross.
Star Wars is truly an ever-evolving franchise, with Obi-Wan being the latest installment in a story that began 45 years ago with the first film, Star Wars: A New Hope, in in 1977.
The global phenomenon stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in their iconic roles as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo.
So far, Disney+ has a good track record with its Star Wars miniseries, with 2019’s The Mandalorian proving both commercial and critical success and its successor The Book of Boba Fett often garnering rave reviews. heat.
