A COUPLE have been forced to beg for Disney World tickets after making a simple mistake booking their vacation.
The anonymous couple had traveled all the way from Switzerland to Florida but hadn’t made a reservation for their day at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
Since the pandemic, Disney has introduced several new rules for ticketing and admission reservations.
To book park admission, you can do this in the app under park reservations or on the website.
It is recommended that you make these reservations well in advance, ideally when you first book your holiday.
The Swiss couple had failed to make reservations and instead attempted to show up on the day and enter the parks.
After being turned away by the ticket office, the couple fashioned a makeshift sign out of a cardboard box and appealed to other guests heading to the parks.
The sign read, “Find ticket and reservation.”
It is reported that they initially catered to guests from outside the Magic Kingdom entrance, but were later moved to the parking lot outside the ticket center.
The Disney website advises: “To enter a theme park, you must have a park reservation and valid admission to that park for each day you wish to visit.
Universal Orlando has since reached out to the couple to offer them theme park tickets instead, according to local media.
It’s not her just a slight mistake to make if you are planning a vacation to Disney World.
Rob Maden issued the warning to others via a Facebook group Disney World Visitors after being unable to visit the parks for two days of his vacation.
He wrote: “If you are locked into specific dates, book your Disney park reservations as soon as possible certain parks especially if you have a table reservation.
“We’ve been there for a week and haven’t had any park availability issues until yesterday when there was NO availability for a park!
“This weekend and next week is also very limited with only Epcot available for most of next week.”
A Disney expert has revealed the best time of the week to visit the theme parks if you want to avoid the crowds.
They suggest booking a restaurant for breakfast which is inside the park property which means you can be inside before the gates open to all guests.
