Disruption to Brighton services after a person was hit by a train

ALL lines are blocked after a person is hit by a train.

Southern Rail announced just after 9.15am this morning that a person had been hit between Southampton Central and Havant.

Trains running between London Victoria/Brighton and Southampton Central start and end at Bognor.

The train operator says people should plan an extra 90 minutes for their journey.

A spokesman said: “It is with great sadness that we report that a person has been hit by a train traveling between Southampton Central and Havant.

“All lines are closed while emergency services are on scene to deal with this tragic incident.”

Rail replacement buses have been requested by South Western Railway but these will take some time to arrive on site.

Samaritans (116 123) operates a 24 hour service available every day of the year. If you’d rather write down how you’re feeling or if you’re concerned about being overheard on the phone, you can email Samaritans at jo@samaritans.org.
