Dizzee Rascal on Government coronation list despite assault conviction

An official Government playlist compiled to celebrate the King’s coronation features a track by grouchy artist Dizzee Rascal – despite his conviction for domestic violence.
His musician lost an appeal last week after being found guilty in April of assaulting his former fiancée, Cassandra Jones.
Dizzee Rascal’s Dance Wiv Me, featuring DJ Calvin Harris and singer Chrom3, is one of 28 tracks on the Ministry of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s Public Coronation Playlist on Spotify.

The Queen Consort, who will also be anointed and crowned at her coronation on May 6, has been staunchly campaigning against domestic violence for years.
Other hits on the hour and 56-minute playlist include The Beatles’ Come Together, Boney M’s Daddy Cool, Harry Styles’ Treat People With Kindness, Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill, Spice’s Say You’ll Girls. Be There and King by Years and Years are appropriately titled.
The compilation appears as a link on the new official coronation website – coronation.gov.uk – under the toolkit – a series of documents designed to help the nation celebrate the coronation of the King .
Monday marks three months until the famous event, which is part of the festival weekend.
Dizzee Rascal, 38, real name Dylan Mills, was found guilty at trial of assaulting Ms Jones by pressing his forehead against hers and pushing her to the floor during a “chaotic” argument. after he barged into her home in south London in June 2021.
After Mills lost her case last week, Ms. Jones said in a statement that the ruling showed that “wealth and status cannot be used to silence women” and that “support is available.”
Camilla is an outspoken campaigner against domestic violence.
In November, she hosted a huge reception at Buckingham Palace, where she called for an end to “abominable crimes” against women and girls.
