EastEnders: Gray’s downfall revealed in suspenseful trailer

EastEnders airs a possible Gray Atkins finale next week, it seems, on the BBC, as he has finally been discovered for his violent crimes.

It was teased that he could do a runner as some residents swore deadly revenge, and it confirmed that he was behind the deaths of Chantelle Atkins and Tina Carter.

Lives are in jeopardy next week, as Gray does everything in his power to ensure he escapes justice.

But a dark trailer for the film and the scenes ahead teased some of the Walford residents who appeared to be attacking Gray, wanting some reward for what he’s done.

Fans are currently believing that Gray will be killed in an explosion, and have shared their thoughts on who might be the killer.

Although the BBC has not confirmed a macabre ending for Grey, it is thought that next week will be his last – but fans will just have to wait and see.

So if soap kills him, here are all the prime suspects…

Mick Carter

Mick’s Danny Dyer has quit the BBC and will be leaving at some point this year

BBC / Jack Barnes / Kieron McCarron)

Mick’s Danny Dyer has left the BBC and will leave at some point this year.

Given that Mick is Tina’s nephew and they’re so close, he’ll definitely want to take down Gray – as teased in the trailer when he walks towards him menacingly.

Some fans have questioned whether Mick will kill Gray and then make a runner or be sent to jail, while others have predicted he can blame someone else.

Shirley Carter

Mick’s mother and Tina’s sister, Shirley, walk the path of war after her death

BBC / Jack Barnes / Kieron McCarron)

Mick’s mother and Tina’s sister, Shirley, go on the road to war after her death.

She immediately suspects Gray might be involved, and when this is confirmed, she goes to his house to kill him.

Shirley also appears in the trailer preparing to attack him with a stool to avenge his sister.

Fans predicted Shirley and Mick could either take down Gray together, or Shirley could kill him – leading to Mick’s departure.

Keegan Baker

Another character who also left ITV soon was Keegan actor Zack Morris

Another star who soon left the BBC was actor Keegan Zack Morris, who had a new role.

He is Chantelle’s brother, Grey’s first victim, and has valued Gray’s brother-in-law for many years.

So, to learn that he was behind his sister’s death, and abusing her as well, would certainly leave him devastated.

But in a moment of grief, can Keegan be the one to avenge Gray – and could this lead to his way out?

Karen Taylor

Chantelle Karen’s mother was the last to believe her son-in-law could treat her daughter the way he did.

BBC / Jack Barnes / Kieron McCarron)

Chantelle Karen’s mother was the last to believe her son-in-law could treat her daughter the way he did.

The scenes will see her struggle to believe the claims he killed Tina, and that he was involved in Chantelle’s death.

She even defended him when the police ransacked the Square – but it all seems to change later, as the trailer shows her screaming from a broken window, as police race through the Square.

There’s another moment where she appears to attack him with a chair – but will she continue to kill him?

Mitch Baker

Chantelle’s father Mitch never met Gray’s eyes while he was with his daughter

Chantelle’s father Mitch never saw Gray while he was with his daughter.

This changed after her death, but he was initially warned Gray might have been involved in her death – something he later ignored.

Before Chantelle died, he encouraged her to open up to him, realizing that something was wrong and that she was unhappy.

He also seems to sense her fear right before her death, when Gray makes her come home to him in the middle of a family vacation.

So when he finds out what Gray has done, he will no doubt seek revenge.

Whitney Dean

Gray’s ex and Chantelle’s friend Whitney will have a dramatic confrontation with the killer next week

BBC / Jack Barnes / Kieron McCarron)

Gray’s old friend and Chantelle’s friend Whitney will have a dramatic confrontation with the killer next week.

She has yet to discover that his past obsession with her led to Gray murdering her boyfriend Kush Kazemi last year.

Whitney had been trying to expose the killer for months, after discovering in December that he had abused and possibly killed Chantelle.

So far, her claims have been ignored, but the next week the Carters finally listened to her when she suggested that Gray may have killed Tina, as well as his ex-wife Chantelle.

It sets the stage for an explosive week, leading to Whitney and Gray’s eventual confrontation – so is Whitney forced to kill Gray to save herself or could someone else be to blame?

Chelsea Fox

Chelsea Gray Lobster’s current wife was overpowered and even attacked by him

The final suspect on our list is the current wife of Chelsea Gray Lobster, who has been controlled and even attacked by Gray Lobster in recent weeks.

When Gray took their baby son Jordan from the hospital next week, she was terrified, having found the courage to let go of his control.

She comes home and asks Gray if he really killed Tina and Chantelle, much to his shock at her return of confidence.

The moment of seeing Gray angry at her, losing control, as people tease her could be in serious danger – but can Chelsea fight back?

Someone is surprised

Kheerat Panesar worked with Whitney to expose Gray

Maybe Gray doesn’t die and end up arrested for his crimes, just as viewers are hoping he will.

Or maybe in true soapy style, viewers wouldn’t expect that to be able to take down Grey.

Maybe a Carter or a loved one of Mick and Shirley, or maybe one of the Taylors or Bakers will get revenge.

Perhaps Kheerat Panesar, who worked with Whitney to expose Gray, will find himself in another confrontation with the character – and maybe this time he will kill him.

The soap is keeping all the details under wraps until transmission, so viewers will have to stay tuned next week to find out what happens.
