Roger Ver, an early investor and passionate Bitcoin (BTC) promoter who earned him the nickname “Bitcoin Jesus,” has resurfaced on Twitter after a year and in an interview endorsed Dogecoin (DOGE), referring to it for payments to the prefers the world’s first crypto.
In an interview with Bloomberg, the founder of Bitcoin.com said he’s a fan of the memecoin due to its fast transaction times and low fees:
“Dogecoin is significantly better, cheaper and more reliable [than Bitcoin]. If I had to pick three candidates for the world’s dominant cryptocurrency, they would be Doge, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash.”
Ver also took time out in the interview to express his support for the Twitter acquisition of honorary Dogecoin CEO Elon Musk.
“This will certainly make Twitter more attractive,” Ver said. “I’m really, really grateful that Musk is out there calling for censorship.”
Though Ver was a Bitcoin proponent for years, he now spends his days as an evangelist for Bitcoin Cash (BCH), the altcoin that was forked from Bitcoin after a dispute over the block size.
A video posted to Vers’ YouTube channel in March shows him and his entourage onboarding retailers and taxi drivers to use Bitcoin Cash as their preferred payment method in Saint-Martin.
Ver says that Bitcoin Cash is the true vision of Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto, and for all his pro-crypto support, he claims he’s not totally into BCH:
“I’m definitely still a cryptocurrency whale, I’ve always had a diverse basket of cryptocurrencies. I was never a Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash maximalist.”
