Prominent anti-vaccination activist Dolores Webster has been “obliged to keep the peace” for a year after a Kilkenny court found she intentionally obstructed a Garda in 2019.
s Webster, also known as Dee Wall, appeared before Kilkenny District Court on April 1.
The judge ruled that if she does not attract attention within the next 12 months, her crime of willful obstruction will be dealt with under the Probation Act.
Despite the court ruling that Webster intentionally obstructed a Garda in Kilkenny, she immediately posted a video online declaring that her “case was dismissed” and accusing the Gardaí investigation of “incredible lies”.
In January, Webster, with an address in Muskerry Road, Ballyfermot, was arrested at an anti-lockdown rally in Dublin on a warrant related to the Kilkenny obstruction case. Arrest warrants were issued for her after she failed to appear in Kilkenny District Court on October 28 last year on charges of obstructing an officer.
Ms Webster has been charged with willfully preventing Garda Mary Keegan from carrying out her duty at the Club House Hotel, Patrick Street, Kilkenny on 3 December 2019.
A series of videos of Webster’s arrest were posted on social media, showing her being helped into a Garda van by Gardaí while her supporters yelled at her. They labeled Webster a “digital journalist” and said she had “brittle bones.” One supporter shouted: “You did the same to Gemma O’Doherty.”
O’Doherty, a former journalist-turned-conspiracy theorist, was once a friend of Webster’s. However, O’Doherty posted derogatory comments about Webster online after the arrest, which she described as a “fake arrest”.
Video of the arrest shows a garda approaching Webster to tell her she’s being arrested on some bank orders. As she was brought into the van, she yelled, “You don’t have a search warrant.” Despite her claims, two arrest warrants were issued for her.
The accusation of intentional obstruction is a misdemeanor and punishable with a fine of up to 400 €. Despite this, she claimed in her video before Kilkenny District Court last Friday week that she had brought nightwear with her as she had been expected to be jailed on “fraudulent” charges.
The Dubliner is one of Ireland’s most prolific Covid deniers, known for publishing misinformation and making dangerous claims online.
She has previously urged other anti-vaxxers to drag President Michael D. Higgins out of Áras an Uachtaráin and be danced on “lest there be anything left of his head.”
Since the beginning of the pandemic, which she calls a “plandemic,” Webster has berated politicians, journalists and medical professionals at anti-vaccination demonstrations and in online videos.
Late last year she turned her attention to Joe Duffy, Pat KennyAdrian Kennedy and Professor Luke O’Neill, warning that if a child is affected by the Covid vaccine, parents “will be after them”.
