Donald Trump has criticized Prince Harry for not attending the memorial service for his late grandfather, Prince Philip.
Speaking in an explosive interview with Piers Morgan, 57, scheduled to air on Monday, the former US president, 75, has called the Duke of Sussex, 37, “terrible” for his absence.
After predicting that he feels Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s relationship won’t last, Piers quickly turned to the topic of Harry’s decision to steer clear of the memorial.
The Sun reported that Donald interrupted Piers to say it was “terrible” before Piers announced that the prince “couldn’t find the time” even though he was able to attend events like Super. Bowl.
Donald later added: “It was a terrible thing, many terrible things could have happened, as you mentioned, it could have been the worst, because he was, you know, like, like she.”
Donald went on to reminisce about a story he’s heard regarding Philip before adding: “I think it’s terrible that Harry doesn’t go to the Prince Philip memorial. Yes, I think Harry’s situation will play out. out so many other ways.”
During the conversation, Donald affectionately spoke to the Queen and admitted that he felt it was the right thing to do if Prince Harry and Meghan were stripped of their royal titles altogether.
He continued: “The only thing I disagree with the Queen, perhaps one of the only things so far, is that I think she should have said, ‘If that was the choice of you, fine. But you don’t have a title anymore’, you know, and honestly, don’t go where you are, because her allegiance is to the country.
“She’s said that many times. Her loyalty is to the country. And I think he was too disrespectful to the country, and it’s a great country.”
When Piers first dropped the teaser for his interview, it caused a lot of tension between him and the former POTUS.
They got into a bit of a controversy on Twitter after Donald released several statements quashing a “fake news” clip that appeared to suggest he took the interview by storm.
The way the clip was approached even led to Piers having a social media argument with Caitlyn Jenner, who decided she would no longer be a guest on his new talk show.
The 72-year-old former Olympic athlete began by tweeting another user’s views on the upcoming interview and writing: “This is a pathetic attempt to use President Trump as a to revive the career of a failed TV presenter, ‘@TayFromCA … couldn’t agree more @piersmorgan I just had my manager cancel my appearance with you on Wednesday of this week. this for your hateful misconduct today.”
Piers Morgan Uncensored will air on TalkTV, 8pm Monday through Friday (Sky 526, Virgin Media 627, Freeview 237 and Freesat 217)
