A LARGE group of trailers have been spotted in a park.
Police said officers were aware of vehicles at Woodland Park off Station Road in Angmering.
West Sussex County Council previously said there were 24 caravans and motorhomes parked at Goring Greensward, which have since moved on.
Gas canisters, deckchairs and other items were seen on the village green in Marine Drive, Goring on Wednesday July 6th.
A notice was served on all of them, telling them to vacate the country.
A spokeswoman for West Sussex County Council said there would be legal action if they failed to do so.
On Tuesday, July 12, the spokeswoman confirmed that the travelers had been “moved on”.
However, Adur and Worthing Police said officers had been alerted to a number of vehicles arriving at Woodland Park, Angmering, on Tuesday.
“We are closely monitoring the situation in consultation with local authorities to ensure the safety of the local community and determine what next steps should be taken,” a police spokesman said.
Earlier this year Brighton and Hove City Council urged police to use emergency powers to remove a group of travelers from Preston Park, Brighton.
Photos showed a number of people in the trailers who eventually left the park to do their laundry and engage in other activities.
Also last year, a group set up camp in Stanmer Park.
Up to six caravans and other various vehicles were pictured parked near the University of Sussex in March 2021.
A vehicle could be seen towing logging machines.
Meanwhile, as of July last year there were sites for 44 caravans on municipal and private sites in Brighton and Hove, according to the government’s latest caravan count.
Data from the Department for Leveling Up, Housing and Communities showed there were 38 caravans in the area in July 2021 – up from 28 in July 2019.
Of the people counted this year, nine were in unauthorized parking spaces.
