It’s unclear if all cancellations and delays are due to weather.

There have been thunderstorms, rain and winds to hit England this morning, moving from the south-east to central and southern Europe.

A spokeswoman for Gatwick Airport said: “Due to poor weather conditions, air traffic control restrictions are currently in place across southern England and parts of Europe.

“Unfortunately, this will result in delays and cancellations of some flights today.”
