Reality TV star and doctor Alex George has revealed he has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
He, a former Love Island contestant, 31, is a youth mental health ambassador for the Government and often uses his social media platforms to start conversations around health issues physical and mental.
George shared a message via his Instagram account on Wednesday night, revealing his recent diagnosis.
“This is not an easy book to write,” he wrote. I’m sitting in my bed and I’m not 100% sure where to start.
“I suspected for most of my teenage and adult life that I wasn’t like a lot of other people around me.
“I struggled when others didn’t, and thrived when others found the challenge. I have tried to hide and also obey most of my life. Why? My fear has always been that I don’t want to be labeled and judged.
“Why do I want to be known as ‘disorder’.
“The key to me finally meeting someone was my Stompcast conversation with Toddla T, who gave me the strength to stop burying my head in the sand and look for some answers.
“Over the past few months I have been under evaluation and have now been ‘diagnosed’ with ‘Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
ADHD is a condition that affects a person’s behavior and can include symptoms such as restlessness and difficulty concentrating.
According to the NHS, most cases of ADHD are diagnosed in children between the ages of three and seven but it can sometimes be diagnosed later in childhood or even into adulthood.

George went on to explain to his 1.9 million Instagram followers that he “hates” the name and word “disorder” and revealed that he found it difficult to face his diagnosis as an adult. Fort.
He ended his post by telling his followers: “I still need time to reflect and gather my thoughts, but I really feel uncomfortable with naming them. this diagnosis.
