The Food Medic emerged in 2012 from a passion project of mine during my medical studies. After suddenly losing my father to a stroke as a teenager, I was fascinated by how diet and lifestyle can affect our health and genetic predisposition to disease. However, lectures paid only lip service to non-medical interventions such as diet, physical activity, sleep and stress management, so I set out to learn more about how our lifestyle affects our health and started blogging about my insights into accessibility . easy-to-understand articles and social media captions like “The Food Medic.”

wrote and published my first book, the nutritionist, In 2017 I worked full time as a first year doctor in London and published my second book, The food medicine doctor for lifein 2018. During this time my passion for nutrition and public health continued to grow, which brought me back to university the following year to pursue my Masters in Clinical Nutrition and Public Health at University College London (UCL) and become a dual licensure as a doctor and nutritionist.
