Catch Dr. Zoe and Dr. Sara weekdays this Morning from 10am on ITV and ITV Hub – where they unfold their journey into motherhood and toddler parenting.
Hello guys! What does motherhood mean to you?
Zoe: [Zoe had her first child Lisbon at 41 in June 2021.] Relief. I had intended to go alone before I met Stuart, because I had wanted to be a mother for about a decade but I had not met the right life partner. I felt scared that I would spend the rest of my life not being a mother, so I frozen my eggs a few years ago.
Sarah: [Sara has one-year-old son Harris.] I have more love for my upbringing and a lot more respect for my parents. It’s hard!
Are the two of you near the show?
Zoe: Sara is lovely and we get along really well. We both have pretty serious personalities as doctors, but in real life we’re both a bit goofy.
Sara: Zoe is my best friend in the ITV family.
I feel so lucky to have her.
Has the way you treat your patients changed since you became your own parent?
Sara: I understand a lot better when they’re late!
Zoe: My life experience helps me empathize with patients and there is no life experience like giving birth.
With such a busy life, how do you ensure that you take care of yourself?
Zoe: I used to say anyone can find 10 minutes a day, but after having a baby it’s a challenge. I love going to the gym. Sometimes I work out, other times I go to the spa.
Sara: Exercise, hot coffee and an audiobook. That’s all I need.
