Drake fans were delighted on Thursday when the superstar announced a surprise new album – and revealed it was coming soon.

The rapper took to Instagram on Thursday to inform his fans of the exciting news, and within two hours more than two million followers had liked the post, including Kanye West.

Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, posted an image of the CD cover with the caption: “Seventh studio album ‘HONESTLY, NEVERMIND’ comes out at midnight.”

Among those who left comments was DJ Khaled, who wrote: “Get your food ready.”

American rapper Lil Yachty also said, “It’s time for you to shine with some fun flames,” while actress Bella Thorne responded with some flame emojis.

Drake’s last album, Certified Lover Boy, was released last September and quickly rose to number one on the Billboard 200, surpassing rival Kanye West’s Donda album.

The award-winning album is his first full sequel to his 2018 album Scorpion and was released through his own OVO Sound under license from Republic Records.

It features appearances from Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, etc and his latest role is said to include the likes of Ariana Grande.

He first sparked rumors of a new album earlier in the year when he started sharing snaps of himself and producer Carnage together in the studio.

The Toronto-born boy has fans worried about any other news about his new album but he is expected to share more details about the surprise effort on the show’s first episode. his SiriusXM Table For One radio.

Fans on Twitter loved the announcement and couldn’t help but share their excitement.

One user exclaimed: “WOW Drake is releasing a new album because my graduation is the best present.”

Another commented: “I literally woke up to the announcement of a new album…. God that’s great!”

A third said: “First Beyoncé gave us some new music this summer and now we’re getting some new Drake tonight too.”

And a fourth wrote: “I need this new drake to be on fire. I’m so happy for that.”
