Dramatic images show flooding in Pulborough

The River Arun has flooded in Sussex after a week of heavy rain.

The Environment Agency issued flood warnings for the entire district. The warning for the Arun at Pulborough remains in place.

According to the national body, the River Arun has fallen from its peak but the A29 at Pulborough will continue to be affected by flooding.

The river level rose this morning due to the high tide but is expected to fall again this evening.

A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: “While very little rain is forecast for Friday and Saturday, the flow will not return to normal levels until next week.”
