Car TikTok channel simplebuilds uploaded the car wash hack, which has now been viewed by more than 2.3 million people.

An easy way to save money is to wash your car at home with a sponge and bucket instead of using expensive automatic car washes.

However, this clever hack will improve your home improvement and speed things up in the process.

The video begins with the words “I will never pay for a car wash again.”

simplbuilds watches as someone takes their humble household hose, unscrews the spray gun and pours car shampoo straight into the end.

After screwing on the spray gun and turning on the tap, the hose creates a constant jet of foam.

This replicates a foam lance such as those found at your local car wash or which can be expensive to purchase for home use.

Then you see simplebuilds running off to try it himself and saying, “Oh! It works!”

It also saves a lot of time because you can cover your car faster and let the shampoo soak in instead of messing around with a sponge.

There are also special foam lance shampoos that remove dirt and claim to eliminate the need for a sponge altogether.

But some people in the comments weren’t so sure.

mando_53 said: “How long does it last in the hose haha.”

While Zagno pointed out, “Did you just expect the soap not to be in the water…?”

klutzyslayer was concerned about the impact on the water: “NOT if there is a loss of pressure, say a rupture in your city’s water system, personal well system, home system, there could be backfeed and contamination.”
