A drunk man has been arrested after he tried to grab food from the plates of people having lunch outdoors in a central Dublin square.

evi McCarthy (30 years old), who was “a nuisance” in the incident, was fined for disturbing public order.

McCarthy, of Plunkett Road, Askeaton, Limerick, admitted to being intoxicated in public and engaging in threatening, abusive and abusive behavior.

Garda Kyle McCoy told Dublin District Court that he saw the defendant intoxicated at Wolfe Tone Square in Jervis Street on March 23 last year.

McCarthy is from Limerick, studied website management and worked abroad.

He moved to Dublin and homelessness “became a problem for him for the first time in his life”, Ms McGeever said.

McCarthy has apologized for his behavior.

Judge Bryan Smyth fined him 300€ for the first incident and 350€ for the second.
