After a final test, the developers get by with the Athena update dual universe have released a new devblog detailing what you need to know about the upcoming System Map update.

The system map is drawn to scale and players can navigate and pan around the system map to get a better sense of space and direction. You can rotate the map and toggle some of the display settings that are relevant to you. This means you can narrow the map down to what you need most, or add more information if you think it’s relevant. Information options include constructs, points of interest, and resource spots.

You can also set a warp point that does not replace your current target waypoint. This expansion of options is important for the new systems like the upcoming alien core units and the new zones for first-time players or players who want less chance of PVP action. You can also use the menus to set goals, open planetary maps, and set those warp points.

As with other options in dual universe, this is the choice of the player in action. Some people prefer a clearer map and others need more information to track their goals. You can also reset the map to its default location and options if it has become unwieldy. Other additions to the map that you’ll notice are accurate distance displays between your avatar’s location and any location you select by hovering over the destination.

Athena is coming, and while the previous focuses and announcements sometimes focused on the PVP side and the war ahead, the update is much bigger than that and these map additions and options are a part.
