Dublin Airport Delays: Aer Lingus check-in problems resulting in long queues this morning

Passengers face long queues at Dublin Airport this morning due to a technical error in Aer Lingus’ check-in system.

Those waiting in terminal two have vented their frustration on the internet with reports that the IT system is down.

Aer Lingus has confirmed that “connection issues” in its cloud-based system were causing the delays.

“We are currently experiencing connectivity issues with our cloud-based reservations and operating systems that are impacting check-in and boarding processes. This may cause delays and disruptions to our services in the coming hours.

“We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience caused during this period. We are working to resolve the connection issues as soon as possible,” said an airline spokesman.

One Twitter user wrote: “I got here around 7:30, just want to check in and catch my connection in London.”

While another said: “For the last 2 hours. We’re just sitting here on the floor while people tell us they’re working on the solution.”

Meanwhile, Dublin Airport operator Daa said: “Aer Lingus is currently experiencing an internal IT issue that is affecting their check-in and boarding processes.

“As they work to resolve the issue, we ask guests to cooperate with our teams. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”
