Dying Light 2 has sold over 5 million copies

Techland has announced a sales milestone for dying light 2.

According to the developer, the game sold over 5 million copies in its first month of availability across all platforms. The game was released on February 4th, so overall sales will be higher.

The studio also announced the franchise’s first game, dying lighthas now exceeded 20 million in sales.

Techland’s Survival Horror action-RPG takes place 20 years after the first game and stars a new protagonist named Aiden. The city it all takes place in is set in Europe and the map, which is four times larger than the original game, is free to explore. There are different factions in the game that you will interact with and your choices will affect the world and how NPCs perceive you. Some choices may also open or close areas of the city to you.

New zombies have been added in the sequel, and like the first game, they are slow during the day and more aggressive at night. During the night, zombies will come out of hiding, giving you the opportunity to explore their hiding places.

Techland plans to support the game for at least five years after launch by expanding the world with new stories, locations, in-game events, and more. The first DLC included the free factions inspired DLC, followed by the first challenges in March. Next week there will be a series of events centered around the mutated infected, New Game+ is expected later this month, the second series of challenges is coming in May and the first story DLC is planned for June.
