Techland has confirmed that a New Game+ mode will be coming to Dying Light 2 by the end of April in the game’s next major patch.
Dying Light’s official Twitter account has an update provided when players can expect the third patch for Dying Light 2. “It’s going to be one of the biggest patches we’ve released to date,” the official Twitter account wrote. “Along with many fixes for multiplayer and singleplayer, there will also be a New Game+ mode that will give you more reasons to revisit The City.”
In a follow-up tweet, the account wrote, “We plan to release patch 3 on all platforms by the end of this month. The full notes will be available once the update is live.” No further details were given on what players can expect from the next update.
Last month, Dying Light 2 received its second major patch, which fixes a number of issues that plagued the game. First, the frustrating death loop bug that caused players who died in a restricted area to respawn elsewhere and not make it back to the mission area in time has been fixed.
Several quests have also been fixed as part of the update, as well as fixed crashes or black screens in certain situations, Survivor Sense now works correctly, and a number of other fixes have also been made.
In VG247’s review of the game, we said, “Dying Light 2 is chaotic and uneven. It’s also unique, exciting and just plain fun to play, with one of the best settings in recent memory – despite the nagging feeling that the game could, and should, be more than what it is. Techland has made great strides with the sequel, but it’s clear that the future of Dying Light can’t just be about creating a bigger city to climb around in, but with good breadth — now it just needs the right depth.”
