Neal Maupay scored his first goal for Everton – and maintained his good record against West Ham.
The striker, who recently left Albion, was on track to deliver a much-needed 1-0 win for his struggling side at Goodison Park.
It was his first goal since February and came after he said he had taken a step up by joining the Merseyside club.

Maupay had not netted since his spectacular top corner performance for the Seagulls at Watford last season.
But he has now scored in all three of his Premier League starts against West Ham.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph ahead of the game, Mauiay said of his move: “It’s definitely a step up.
“Everyone commends Graham Potter for what he has done.
“Last season we finished ninth. But the season before that we were 16th and were only sure about three games before the end of the season.
“Football is changing. Just because we had problems yesterday doesn’t mean that tomorrow won’t be good.
“We had two tough seasons in Brighton and the third was the good one. Building takes time.”
Maupay scored with a well-taken goal, a rare highlight in a match between two teams that got off to a difficult start.
Alex Iwobi threaded a pass through the tightest gaps between Declan Rice and Kurt Zouma, and Maupay’s excellent first touch carried the ball to a low volley past Lukasz Fabianski at his near post.
