€13,000/ac for 85ac grass and arable farm in Co Carlow

Stock between 17ac and 86ac being auctioned over the next few weeks is the kind of place that attracts a lot of customers and sells well.

An 85.25 ac grass and arable residential farm is set to be sold by Kilkenny auctioneer Pat Gannon this Thursday.

The farm at Carrickbeg and Coolnapish, Bagenalstown, Co Carlow is spread over several lots and includes a farmhouse and outside offices.

These can be bought as a separate lot on 5.25ac with a guide value of €250,000 or on 1ac for €160,000. The rest of the country is listed at €13,000/ac.

According to Mr. Gannon, the farm is mostly grass and while some tillage work is being done, he says more soil is suitable for crops.

There is ample road access and the property is being offered in a range of six lots, packaging the farm in a variety of configurations.

The house and yard can be bought for 5.25ac or for 28ac; other configurations consist of 22.75ac, 24.75ac, 32.5ac and 57.25ac.

All have street frontage and the 24.75ac has a particularly expansive frontage.

The auction will take place this Thursday 29th September at 3pm at the Lord Bagenal Hotel, Leighlinbridge.
