Before the niche chart even started, people mentioned the TV series “24: Redemption,” which brought Jack Bauer to Africa. It serves as a solid prequel to Season 7, with Jack fighting to stop the Sangalan rebels from recruiting child soldiers and giving us the first indication that Jonas Hodges (Jon Voight) and company His private military, Starkwood, is completely out of order. It’s a great action movie, but it doesn’t make this list because it’s not the actual season of the show. However, “24” fans were delighted when this came out. Because of 2007-2008 writers strike, there was a two-year wait between seasons 6 and 7; Hungry fans are ready for any taste of Jack Bauer they can get their hands on.
“24: Legacy” also deserves a nod. Like the original series, it uses the show’s real-time format, but follows a new hero. Eric Carter, played by Corey Hawkins, is part of an elite Rangers team that specializes in the assassination of a high-ranking terrorist. After participating in federal witness protection, some of his team is singled out, and Carter eventually learns of a plot to activate dormant cells on American soil. This show does an admirable job of delivering “24” style action and twists, but some of the extra episodes, like the one with brother Eric and a drug ring, pull season 12 its shortened set down. “24: Legacy” proves that the real-time format is tunable, but it’s not really “24” has no Jack Bauer.
