Eamonn Holmes rips off his former ITV bosses for his actions This morningbranding them as “sly” and “hypocritical”.
The 62-year-old, who joined rival GB News, also took aim at his former colleague Phillip Schofield, claiming he was “famous for snubbing people”.
Eamonn presented on Fridays and for half a term with his wife Ruth Langsford for 15 years to cover the main presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
However, it was revealed in November 2020 that the couple will fall from their usual position and was replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
The pair were rumored to have been “hurt” by the change at the time and now Eamonn has suggested that ITV the boss wants to make it look like he has left the role.
Talk to Daily Mail’s Weekend Magazinehe said that “nobody explained anything” to him, adding: “They were sly. They didn’t want to announce that I was disqualified because it would adversely affect audience numbers, so so they make it look like I’ve walked away from them rather than going the other way.”
He went on to claim that bosses chatted with his agent and announced that he was going to GB News – even though the channel at the time only asked if he wanted to indulge. .
Eamonn also hit on ITV’s diversity dynamics, branding its former bosses as “hypocrites”.

The presenter asked, “When did they start diversifying with their management? Diversity is only on screens. It’s hypocritical.”
