GB News broadcaster Eamonn Holmes paid tribute to his mother on social media and said he will “miss her so much” following the announcement of her death.
The veteran news presenter, 62, shared a photo of her “beautiful” mother, Josie, standing in the doorway happily waving to the camera.
In a post to her more than 750,000 followers, Holmes captioned: “My 4 wonderful brothers and I said our last goodbyes to our beautiful mom Josie this afternoon. Now she is finally reunited with her father.
“That was our only consolation. We love and will miss her so much. Every time I visit her, she comes to the door to bless me with Holy Water and wave goodbye. Now sadly, it’s really Goodbye Mom.”
Several famous faces have taken to the social media to offer their condolences to Holmes, including veteran BBC broadcaster Huw Edwards, who sent his “love and sympathy” and the host. Good Morning Britain show, Susanna Reid, who wrote: “I’m so sorry. Send love.”
Reality star Katie Price also sent her affection, along with Natalie Rushdie, daughter-in-law of novelist Sir Salman Rushdie, who commented: “Oh, I’m so sorry. Sending my deepest love and sympathy to you and your family.”
