Former This Morning host Eamonn Holmes shared the news with fans on Twitter following concerns that he hasn’t appeared on his breakfast show for the past week.
Eamonn Holmes was forced to pause the show on GB News for “unexpected” hospital treatment.
The 62-year-old shared the news with fans on Twitter following concerns that he hadn’t appeared on his breakfast show for the past week.
He wrote on social media: “Hi guys, Many of you asked why I didn’t present GB News this past week.
“Unfortunately, due to one acquisition [sic] Regarding my long-term back pain, I had to have an unexpected treatment at the hospital and I am currently following the Doctor’s instructions by taking a short break.
“However, I’m looking forward to returning with my Breakfast co-presenter and friend Isabel next week. Even though I only joined GB News six months ago, the team and audience are amazing. Ours has shown me great support.very much appreciated.
“I just need some time with my family now to heal and recover. See you soon, Eamonn.”
Among those who came to wish him well was GB News at his work, who wrote via their Twitter account: “We hope you feel better soon @EamonnHolmes! Sending love and Best wishes from all of us here at GB News.”
Co-star Anna Riley also wished him well, writing: “Hope you get well soon, Eamonn, and I look forward to seeing you back for breakfast!”
While Julia Hartley-Brewer commented: “Hope you feel better soon. X”
In the past, Eamonn has spoken openly about his chronic pain, which causes him to frequently struggle with insomnia.
Last year, Eamonn was diagnosed with a dislocated pelvis after months of relentless pain.
At one point, while hosting This Morning with his wife Ruth, he was unable to return on time because the pain became too great.
He arrived later with a cane, and began talking to people about their own experiences of chronic pain.
“By now, many of you who follow Eamonn on social media will know he talks a lot about chronic pain,” says Ruth.
“It’s ironic that he’s not here because he has to walk to the loo. He’s been walking for too long, so he’s on his way back. Now he has to walk longer.”
He told viewers earlier on the show that the pain kept him up at night.
