Eamonn Holmes reveals he doesn’t miss daytime TV

Eamonn Holmes attacked his former owners again.

Just a few weeks after branding ITV as ‘sly’ – and igniting a feud with his former collaborator Phillip Schofield – Eamonn has once again revealed himself when chatting about his time working on the channel.

The broadcaster, 62, has stated that he was not ‘treated with respect’ at ITV until the end of his stint with the station.

Eamonn co-hosted the sixth season of This Morning for 15 years with his wife Ruth Langsford, 61, before they were replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on the ITV show last year.

The Irish presenter currently presents the breakfast show at GB News alongside co-host Isabel Webster, but has raved about why he’s parting ways with ITV for a controversial new channel. argue.

“I switched to GB News because the options were exhausted,” says Eamonn Guardians last weekend.

“Wrong age”, “wrong stage” – at some point, it is very difficult to get a job. “

He added: “Obviously I didn’t tick the box for ITV anymore, and I wasn’t treated with respect there.

“It’s a kind of self-esteem. You think: ‘No, I’m out of here! Bye!” It is done. And nothing has changed: I play what I do frankly. I do not raise the flag for any political agenda. “

The veteran presenter then went on to say it was “a pleasure to be appreciated” at his new workplace, GB News.

Mirror has contacted an ITV representative for comment.

This is not the first time Eamonn has attacked his former employers.

Last month, the father-of-four claimed ITV appeared to want to leave the channel, when in fact he was disqualified.

“They were sly. They didn’t want to announce that I was eliminated because it would adversely affect the audience, so they made it as if I left, not the other way around,” the journalist revealed to Daily Mail’s Weekend Magazine.

“They chatted with my agent and announced that I was going to GB News when they did nothing more than ask if I wanted to join them.”

An ITV spokesman told the Mirror at the time: “This is not the version of events we recognize and as we’ve said before, we wish Eamonn all the best. .”

It’s not just the ITV bosses Eamonn called out in his chat – former This Morning colleague Phillip Schofield also suffered a blow.

The star has appealed to her former co-star for cutting his wife Ruth short in the middle of the trailer for Loose Women on This Morning 2019.

“I only have about three words to say,” Ruth said with a pained look on her face.

Speaking in his interview, Eamonn asserted that “Phillip has a reputation for being a snob” and that he was “hurt” by this awkward incident.

“He was very passive and aggressive. Ruth had to say how she felt, but I felt hurt because of her,” he confessed.

“No one can snub me like that.”
