EAMONN Holmes made a rare appearance on the red carpet on Thursday night as he attended the premiere of Cirque Du Soleil’s film Luzia.
The 62-year-old was seen using a walking stick while joining GB News co-host Isabel Webster.
Newsreaders have had to rely on a cane in recent months after struggling with chronic back and leg pain.
Despite intensive physical therapy and strong painkillers, the screen beauty recently said his daily challenges are affecting his wife Ruth Langsford, who has to wait for him.
He told The Sun: “I don’t walk – it’s like a stumbling block. It was very difficult this year.
“My problem was a stuck sciatic nerve, but I don’t even fully know how it happened in the first place.
“For months now, I can’t walk sometimes, and it’s really harming everyone around me.”
Eamonn and Isabel just started the breakfast show on the news channel after waking up the country together on Sky News Sunrise before leaving in 2016.
He famously presented the daytime show This Morning with his wife Ruth Langsford, hosting it on Fridays and during vacations, for 15 years.
But fans were left disappointed when the pair were moved from their regular positions and replaced with Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.
Sources claim Eamonn was furious – although ITV had initially said it would regularly replace pairings Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on weekdays during the break.
In a recent interview with The Sun, Eamonn cautiously said he doesn’t want to discuss his feelings about the departure, but added: “Put it this way, I’m looking forward to a new move somewhere they’re happy to have me. But I wish everyone at ITV well. “
