Besides using lemon, there are some other easy, cost-effective cleaning tips that will help keep your microwave spotless. Here are a few of them:

Wet towel method

This simpler cleaning trick requires only one item – a small wet towel (make sure it doesn’t have any metal tags).

Just pop the towel in the microwave for a minute or two. You’ll find the towel will soften any bits of food that get dry and sticky. Once the wet wipe is cool enough for you to handle, simply use it to wipe the inside of the microwave.

Baking soda method

Baking soda is perfect for cleaning up after a serious spill inside the microwave. Make a little paste from a tablespoon of baking soda and water and apply the mixture to hard food inside the microwave.

Let the mixture sit on food flakes for five minutes, then easily wipe off with a wet sponge – no scrubbing required.

The dish soap method

Pour a cup of water and a teaspoon of soap into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat this mixture in the microwave for about two minutes to create steam.

Let the mixture steam for three minutes before opening the microwave, removing the bowl from the oven with gloves. Then simply wipe the inside of the microwave with a paper towel to remove food and dirt.
