House prices in East Sussex rose by an average of over £1,000 in May, according to figures from the Land Registry.
The latest Government Department data shows that average house prices in East Sussex hit £345,185 in May 2022.
That was up from £343,710 in April, up 0.4 per cent. In the last 12 months it has increased by 13.4 percent.

Broken down by apartment type, some prices fell despite the general increase.
- detached houses – Up to £589,889 from £584,698 in April
- terraced houses – Up to £380,987 from £378,268 in April
- terraced houses – Up to £301,417 from £300,186 in April
- Apartments – Down to £190,795 in April from £192,015
Even comparing East Sussex to the UK picture, the area is above the UK average with typical property values across the countries hitting £283,496 in May.
In cash terms, the average house price in May was £32,210 higher than a year earlier, with house price growth accelerating to 12.8 per cent in May 2022. Prices rose 1.2 percent month-on-month.
