Eastbourne Borough with tough FA Cup draw

Danny Bloor believes Sussex’s last non-league men standing in the FA Cup will enjoy a tough draw on the road.

Borough were drawn to Maidenhead managed by former West Ham Cup hero Alan Devonshire in the fourth qualifying round.

It’s not a great reward for Saturday’s impressive 2-1 win at previously unbeaten Worthing.

Maidenhead is currently just under half of the fifth tier National League.

District Manager Bloor said: “It will be a very difficult game. We go there as underdogs, but we look forward to it.

“I’ve always enjoyed playing against Alan Devonshire over the years.”

The tie takes place one week on Saturday.

Bloor believes that the team spirit in the camp is high.

He said: “All of our players build into what we’re trying to do.

“Brad Barry has played 200 league games and the other day he texted me, ‘I’m enjoying my football again’.

“Brad could play at a much higher level but he’s playing centre-back here, a position he’s never played before and he absolutely loves it.”

Borough, currently mid-table in the National League South, reached the first round two years ago when they were eventually eliminated at home by Blackpool.
