Eastbourne man arrested after boy seriously injured in Hooe crash
A man has been arrested after a collision that left a boy with “potentially life-threatening” injuries.
The 33-year-old Eastbourne man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injuries by driving dangerously.
The arrest follows a collision between a car and a flatbed truck on the B2095 in Hooe. The man has been released on unconditional bail while the investigation continues.
Ambulance services arrived at the scene of the accident around 3pm on Thursday December 15, where a seriously injured boy was extricated from one of the vehicles.
The boy was then flown to a hospital in London by the ambulance that attended the scene.
The road was partially closed for some time during the incident while emergency services attended the scene near The Lamb pub.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Officers are keen for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward and ask that any relevant information or dashcam footage be emailed to Sussex Police at Collision.appeal@ sussex.police.uk, citing Operation Seville.”
