AN INNOVATIVE space for shopping, work and entertainment opens next month in a busy mall.
Foundry launches in The Beacon, Eastbourne and will combine shared offices with artisan cafes, independent retailers and a music venue.
The multipurpose unit will even include a hair salon, as it hopes to “empower” businesses in the area “to give them the space to think differently”.
The retail spaces on the ground floor will be open to the public seven days a week, while the upper floor will contain offices and meeting rooms.
Foundry plans to open ten more locations in three years.
Foundry Co-Founder Adam Walker said: “We will have a fantastic selection of independent stores and retailers when we open and we will be introducing more great retail entrepreneurs.
“Sixty percent of the offices or studios are now occupied and we are interviewing a number of local companies on the remaining studios.
“There was great feedback. The place is clearly gaining traction and there is a lot of activity around the place.”
Foundry is also looking for non-medical procedure professionals to use its four health and wellness or treatment rooms.
But Foundry’s standout feature is its amphitheater-style wooden space, which connects both floors and will host live DJs.
