A city-centre ice rink returns for Christmas, and it’s said to be ‘bigger and better’ than before,
Skaters will be heading to Eastbourne’s Lightning Fiber Ice Rink in the city center this December.
The ice rink is open from December 1st to January 8th and is located in front of the Enterprise Shopping Centre.
It will be open from 10am to 8pm on weekdays and from 10am to 10pm on weekends. More Christmas events in the city center will be announced in the coming weeks.
With tickets going on sale from September 30, people are encouraged to book early in order not to miss out on last year’s sell-out success and take advantage of early bird tickets.
Early bird tickets are £12 per adult, £8 per child or £30 per family, including skate hire.
Organized by Your Eastbourne, the Business Improvement District (Bid), the rink is once again sponsored by Lightning Fibre.
Stephen Holt, Chief Executive of Your Eastbourne Bid said: “The support for the Lightning Fiber Ice Rink last year has been incredible, with over 17,000 skaters in its first year we couldn’t wait to announce their return.
“We saw a large number of sold out sessions last year. So when the box office opens next Friday, I urge everyone to get your skates on and book as soon as possible so you don’t miss out.”
This year there will be a series of new sessions on the rink with reduced numbers for serious skaters.
At all regular sessions, Booksy Penguin skate aids will again be available to borrow for children and those who need a little extra help.
Discounted school sessions can also be booked in advance, and lockers are available throughout.
Ben Ferriman, CEO and Founder of Lightning Fiber said: “The success of the past year has been phenomenal and we are thrilled to be doing our part to bring Eastbourne’s Lightning Fiber Ice Rink back bigger and better for 2022.
“This is just one of many community engagement initiatives for Lightning Fiber across East Sussex and we are proud to do our bit for the communities we serve.”
Eastbourne Borough Council’s Tourism and Culture Director, Annie Wills, said: “We are delighted to see the return of the ice rink.
“There is so much going on this Christmas from panto to Christmas shopping and the ice rink is the icing on the cake.
“There really is every reason to spend a day in Eastbourne and get in the festive mood or even book a short break.”
