Speculation about Stevie Basaula’s future on the BBC One soap opera has increased over the weekend, after Shona McGarty shared social media snapshots showing partygoers being thrown by the actor into a bash left.

EastEnders has announced the departure of Isaac Baptiste, as Stevie Basaula becomes the sixth star to leave BBC One in less than a year.
Speculation about the actor’s future on the soap was rife over the weekend, as EastEnders star Shona McGarty shared Instagram snaps showing partygoers being beaten by the actor throw stones.
On Monday, producer Kate Oates confirmed the sad news and in a statement she said the “incredible” Stevie would be missed.
“Stevie was a huge asset to EastEnders during his time here; especially through his incredible performance in the story of Isaac’s schizophrenia,” she said.
“As a member of the Trueman family, he will always be part of one of our most iconic families. We will miss him, and wish him success in his new projects,” added Katie.
Stevie, who made his debut as Isaac in January 2020, said he was thrilled to be given the opportunity to star in one of the “biggest shows in the country”.
“What a dream come true! Grateful to have spent over two years on one of the biggest shows in the country, there’s nothing like it,” he said.
“Thank you for everything you have given me. I have learned a lot during my time and I am proud to have been on some important work and have friends and memories that I will cherish for a long time,” said Steveie. added, as he thanked the cast and crew for helping him “grow”.
“EastEnders has been an essential part of my growth both as a young man and as an actor, and now I’m excited and feel ready to explore this next chapter in my career. mine,” he said.
The official announcement came just hours after Shona, who plays Whitney Dean in the BBC, apparently let the cat out of her bag and accidentally confirmed Steveie was leaving EastEnders.
She posted pictures on Instagram of the leaving party thrown in the soap by Stevie and Zack Morris, who plays Keegan Baker, and thanked them both for “letting her document their lucky event” in a post on her Story.
Fans assumed that Stevie had filmed his final scenes, and his departure came after Zack also announced that he would be leaving EastEnders in five years.
“After five amazing years on this incredible show, I have made the difficult decision to leave Walford and give Keegan Butcher-Baker a well-deserved break,” he said in a statement.
“This program has quite frankly changed my life for the better. It will always hold a truly loving place in my heart,” added Zack.
Stevie’s departure is the latest in a long string of departures from Albert Square, with Danny Dyer, Priya Davdra, Ruhtxjiaïh Bèllènéa, Florisa Kamara and Zack all giving up the BBC One soap.
