EastEnders’ Chris Coghill Looks Different From Cruel Suffering Tony King 13 Years After Debut

EASTENDERS star Chris Coghill looks completely different from his villainous character Tony King more than a decade after his television debut.

The soap star made a comeback in 2008 when he was cast as the controversial Tony – who was introduced to Albert Square as Bianca Jackson’s boyfriend.

The abuser Tony became part of the family with Bianca – played by Patsy Palmer – as he became a father to her four children, including Whitney Dean.

He begins to attack Whitney – played by Shona McCarty – during the grieving scenes, as does her classmate Lauren Branning, played by Madeline Duggan.

Tony’s predatory nature was quickly exposed by the people of Walford and he was arrested for his crimes, before being sent to prison in 2009.

Now – almost 13 years after his last appearance on BBC One soap – the star has dazzled fans with his look so different from his TV role.

Actor Chris, 46, changed his shaved look to have a full bushy beard and allow his long locks to grow long enough to smooth back.

He was spotted posing with a friend on Twitter in the summer of 2020, when his partner praised him as a “top actor” and “great writer”.

Since appearing in EastEnders, Chris has starred in The Royal as ambulance driver Bobby Sheridan and in the BBC One drama Moving On.

He also had small roles in season four of the hit crime drama Line Of Duty, as well as Waterloo Road, The Bill and Holby City throughout his career.

Away from the silver screen, Chris married his ex-wife and celebrity chef Lisa Faulkner in 2005 after meeting on the set of a TV show many years earlier.

The couple adopted a daughter together after returning from a luxurious honeymoon in Malaysia – but sadly the marriage fell apart in 2011.

Last year, EastEnders fans were stunned when we discovered what the sport’s child stars look like now, years after their debut.

Many of the BBC’s child stars have pursued careers in very different fields – see little Janine Butcher, who ended up working at Google.

While we also reveal what some EastEnders’ most iconic stars looks like now – from Ian Beale to Pauline Fowler.
