EastEnders aired disturbing scenes on the BBC, as Jean Slater told six-year-old Arthur Fowler about the murder of his father Kush Kazemi – and took him to the train station where he died.
EastEnders fans were horrified on Tuesday night, as Jean Slater continued to act amid fears her daughter Stacey was having a manic episode.
The character, who suffers from bipolar disorder, has been acting unusually recently and making decisions that worry her family.
But things took a disturbing turn in the latest episode of the BBC, when she brought her six-year-old nephew Arthur to the scene of the murder of his father Kush Kazemi.
Jean tells the boy what really happened to his father, who was pushed to the front of a subway train by serial killer Gray Atkins a year ago.
Arthur seemed stunned when Jean asked him if he felt better knowing the truth now, given that Stacey had previously kept the truth a secret from him.
But as Jean’s battle over her mental health continued to worsen, with her refusing to help, Stacey was horrified to realize her little one was missing.
After discovering Jean had sneaked with him and headed to the subway station, a desperate Stacey ran there with old Martin Fowler.
When she arrived, Arthur was standing on the edge of the pipe platform, where his father was standing before he was killed.
In that moment, a tube was pulled into the station, causing Stacey to scream and Arthur to run out of the street in fear before running to his stepfather Martin.
The fact that Jean brought Arthur to his father’s death made Stacey very angry, so to find out, she also told him what had happened that put her in an unforgiving mood.
She screamed at her mother when she learned she was unwell, having previously revealed that she did not feel her children were safe with their grandmother in her current condition.
However, Stacey isn’t the only one horrified by her latest actions, with viewers equally heartbroken by what happened.
Taking to Twitter, viewers begged Jean for help as they said she had gone “too far” with her “sick” confession.
One fan said: “JEAN HAS NEVER BEEN TO THE PIPE TO BE REPAIRED? It was the same tube where his dad died?! Bi—-! She brought him to… OMG! It’s sick!”
Another tweeted: “Wow, does bipolar really make people act as bad as Jean!? I don’t know that… Tell Arthur how his father died and let him look at where his father died. It was horrible.”
The third added: “So it looks like Jean’s manic episode got her off track tonight. Kill Stacey accusing her of being a bad mother and taking Arthur to the train tracks, where Kush died. Jean went. too far tonight.”
