EastEnders: Phil discovers Tina’s body

EastEnders fans were in tears when The Carters finally learned that Tina Carter’s body has been discovered by police after being murdered by the evil Gray Atkins.

Friday’s emotional episode will send shockwaves through Albert Square and kick off an emotional rollercoaster ride of a week on the soap.

It has been over a year since Tina Carter went missing and her family believed she had run away to avoid prosecution for the attack on Ian Beale.

While the Carters don’t know who murdered Tina, viewers have known all along that Gray brutally killed her after she found out he killed his wife, Chantelle.

Since then, Gray Kush has killed Kazemi, attempted to kill his children and Whitney Dean, and abused his current wife, Chelsea.

But fans saw Mick and Shirley left absolutely devastated when DCI Arthurs arrived on their doorstep and revealed Tina’s body had been found at the Argee Bhajee.

Her world was turned upside down and the family was devastated by the news that Tina was dead, but Shirley was determined to find out the truth.

Shirley told officers Gray inexplicably said he saw her sister Tina on a bus a few months ago.

She also explained that Tina had withdrawn money from her bank account after her disappearance, giving the family hope that she might return.

As BBC viewers watched Carter’s heartbreak, many took to Twitter to praise actors Danny Dyer and Linda Henry, who play Mick and Shirley, for their performances in the emotional scenes.

One wrote: “Part 2 made me cry, even ache, with the Carters before they found out when Shirley and Mick would be longing for her to come home.”

Another tweeted: “I literally cried with Shirley & Mick at EastEnders tonight.”

Another social media user wrote: “This must have been one of the best scenes Mick and Shirley have shared in a long time. The emotion and dialogue – really beautifully written – and yet still worth a week of karma. Bring it on!”

Another fan wrote: “The Mick and Shirley scenes tonight were heartbreaking,” while another wrote: “Seeing Shirley and Mick like this is awful :(“

This comes amid a tense and violent showdown between Kheerat Panesar and Gray on the soap opera after Kheerat feared he was getting too deep into the killer.

Despite Whitney’s advice to stay away, Kheerat thought he could finally get Gray to admit the truth about Chantelle’s death and rushed to meet him when Gray called him frantically.

But after speaking to Gray’s wife, Chelsea, Whitney realized that Kheerat had been duped by Gray and was headed for a trap.

Meanwhile, brawls broke out between the two before the soap met a shocking end when Kheerat hit Gray in the head with a bottle, leaving him lifeless on the floor.

Unsure if Gray is alive or dead, a panicked Kheerat hatches a plan to flee Walford – but could he leave just as the truth about Gray is emerging?
