EastEnders actress Danielle Harold has been criticized by a shocking move from show bosses.

Danielle, 29, broke down in tears after it was announced that her character would be killed.

The script bosses are planning a big storyline around Lola’s departure, Sun report.

It is said to be part of new top producer Chris Clenshaw’s plan to shake things up with blockbuster-shaped swirls in the coming months.

An insider said: “Dan was already in pieces. Cull out of the blue.

“She didn’t expect tight because her character was loved by viewers. She will be wiped out and there is no option to return. ”

The actress had a meeting with the head of the honchos last week when her contract had only six months left, but she is looking forward to talking about an extension, it has been announced.

The insider continued: “Danielle was in tears but was told that several actors were being brought to the door.”

However, no one else has been let in the door yet, the source added, saying the cast is gathering around Danielle following the news.

The actress joined EastEnders in 2011, with her character Lola introduced as the granddaughter of longtime character Billy Mitchell, played by Perry Fenwick, 59.

Danielle originally appeared on the BBC soap opera as Lola for about four years. The character leaves Albert Square in scenes that aired back in 2015.

However, she later returned in 2019.

Lola’s backstory includes a teenage pregnancy, with her becoming the first character to give birth live on EastEnders – with such a scene airing in 2012.

Danielle has also played the character in the Billy’s Olympic Nightmare spin-off (2012), and her other acting credits include a role in an episode of the medical series Casualty.

In 2019, Danielle revealed that she found herself being assigned too many “slutty” roles during her 4-year break after the hit movie.

“I was stereotyped – it was the role of a prostitute or classical pole dancing,” she said.

“I think it’s because of my blonde hair.”

She then played a doctor in the horror film Fanged Up, but admitted that she couldn’t wait to return to her old role.

“Fanged Up was filmed in a prison, with fake blood everywhere. It was pretty scary,” she said.

“I went from prison to Walford. I am very excited to be back. ”

But her time away was not all doom and gloom.

She was invited to the Cannes Film Festival, where she encountered childhood heroes including John Travolta and Pulp Fiction co-star Uma Thurman.

Cannes is one of the best experiences. I was queuing to buy an ice cream and Uma was right in front of me,” she told The Sunday Mirror.

“She dropped her purse on the floor, I picked it up to return it and she said ‘thank you’. That’s crazy and also pretty awkward. “

The BBC has been approached for comment.
