EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street all have plenty to keep viewers entertained this week – as ITV and BBC dramas continue to clash

EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street will once again compete this week with the big shots airing on ITV and BBC One.

Residents in all three locations face drama and chaos, as secrets and lies threaten the peace.

While a soap solves the explosion for a serial killer who is eventually caught, in Dales, another serial killer takes a stand.

In Corrie, Adam Barlow is still trying to prove his innocence when Lydia Chambers continues to lie that they had an affair, aiming to ruin his marriage and life.

It’s safe to say that the series won’t end up in soap country anytime soon, with huge shots ahead…

This week, audiences will see residents coming to the events of last week and the arrest of serial killer Gray Atkins.

Gray was eventually captured after a terrifying confrontation with Whitney Dean, with Mitch Baker coming to her rescue.

In tense scenes, Gray attempted to kill his wife Chelsea Fox and ex-girlfriend Shirley Carter, while he also unmasked his ex-mother-in-law Karen Taylor.

The residents finally learn he was behind the deaths of Chantelle Atkins, Tina Carter and Kush Kazemi – and this week the residents will fight to resolve the truth.

As the residents unite, the others disband and attack each other during the trial in Walford.

Fans will know about Shirley’s fate, as Chelsea also managed to weather recent events.

There’s also a big return on the way for Maisie Smith’s character Tiffany Butcher, who left the show after 13 years in December.

Tiffany returns to try to reach her ex-husband Keegan Baker, following news of Gray killing her sister Chantelle.

Just a brief comeback, but will she make it past Keegan? There is speculation that this could be his own soap opera storyline.

Adam Barlow started getting drunk as his life continued to fall apart

His girlfriend Toyah soon steps in, so will he be forced to reveal all?

Elsewhere, Adam Barlow begins to revel as his life continues to fall apart around him after his ex Lydia Chambers orchestrated him.

She told his wife Sarah Platt that they had an affair after using his credit card at a hotel and hiding the receipt and a secret phone in his apartment.

Lydia Chambers is setting him up

All the evidence points to Lydia being honest, and although Adam begs Sarah to believe he’s innocent, she kicks him out and has since refused to forgive him.

This week, he smashed bottles as he struggled with things, especially after it was announced he could lose his career.

By the end of the week, Adam was still unable to talk to Sarah and told Lydia that he would have good proof that she lied.
