EastEnders airs grief and heartbreak in the aftermath of Gray Atkins’ arrest next week on the BBC.
After Gray attacks Shirley Carter as he tries to flee, after his crimes are exposed, the character’s fate will be revealed.
Chantelle Atkins’ loved ones are once again grieving over a year after her death, now they know her husband is to blame.
The Carters are also dealing with the tragedy of Tina Carter’s murder, but there’s shocking news for the other residents.
There’s also the return of a fan favorite, as Maisie Smith reprises her role as Tiffany Butcher for a brief return to the show.
Here’s everything fans can expect from next week’s episodes…
Tiffany is back
Tiffany left Walford in December, after actress Maisie Smith stepped down from the role after 13 years.
But after hearing about what happened to Gray, Tiffany found herself briefly back in Walford.
She tries to contact her ex-husband Keegan Baker, who is completely bewildered by the truth about the death of her sister Chantelle, and the abuse she secretly suffered at the hands of Grey.
As Keegan spirals out of control, will Tiff be able to get past him, and could this be his plot exit as the character will also bow soon?
Gray captures fallout
After Gray’s arrest this week, life in Walford will never be the same.
Residents struggle with the news that Gray also killed Kush Kazemi, while the families of those killed cannot understand what happened.
It will take time for many Walford lovers to heal, and the Taylors and Bakers fully accept that their relatives were behind that horror.
Heartbreak for Martin and Stacey
It has been confirmed that Whitney Dean announced the sad news to Martin Fowler next week that his best friend Kush had been killed by Gray.
Kush’s ex Stacey Slater and Kat Moon were also devastated when they received the sad news.
While the vandals did not reveal what this was, it appears to be the fact that Gray killed Kush, and his death was not an accident.
The Taylors clash in their grief
BBC / Kieron McCarron / Jack Barnes)
Chantelle’s parents Karen and Mitch will clash next week, as they blame each other for their daughter’s death.
Mitch claims Karen should have recognized the signs with Gray, and the abuse, which led to his grieving mother kicking him out.
In fact, he is blaming himself for not noticing his daughter’s suffering, especially when he deeply suspects that something is not right.
Keegan must stand up to try to keep the family united, but they still don’t know that Keegan himself is struggling to cope.
Feeling that he has failed to protect his sister and shocked at Gray’s betrayal, he continues to support his family while hiding his own pain.
But he soon gets caught up in a huge argument with his mother – so will the family find a way out?
Shirley had to fight for her life this week when killer Gray Atkins attacked her in a deadly duel.
Her son, Mick, was so horrified that they were both distracted, and Gray hit her on the head with the foot of a chair.
Shirley fell to the floor lifeless with blood pouring from her head, and Mick soon called an ambulance.
She is seen on a stretcher into an ambulance at the end of the episode, unconscious with a bandage on her head.
Next week’s episode will reveal if she’s okay, and her reaction to catching Gray if she makes it through.
