Hurricane Eunice: Rita Simmons’ garden is devastated by fallen trees

Former EastEnders actress Rita Simons was left in terror today after a tree crashed through a fence into her garden.

Storm Eunice has been causing havoc across the country, bringing winds of 122mph – strongest ever recorded.

Sharing her own experience with the horrible weather, Rita took to Instagram to show her followers her yard.

Filming scenes showing a large tree crashing through a fence and across her garden, she wrote: “The state of my garden.”

It comes later Gemma Collins revealed that she was bathed in the dark tonight after the winds ravaged her Essex home.

The 41-year-old woman was forced to resort to tea lights after her £1.3million home lost power.

Sharing a photo of her gorgeous home, hundreds of tea lights can be seen scattered around on the marble countertop.

Early this morning, Joe Swash also shared his horror at the trees being cut down in his garden.

Joe expresses distrust of extreme winds destroying his house and garden which he shares with his fiancée Stacey Solomon.

While being battered by the wind, he told his 1.9 million followers on Insta Stories: “What’s going on? This wind is unbelievable! Look!”

He went on to point out a large tree that had collapsed on the floor, its branches torn off, and continued: “We’ve lost a tree – what’s going on?! This is madness!”

O2’s roof was damaged in the storm



Stacey is currently away from home while filming and has released an update revealing that she is staying safe in the warm house.

Sharing a snap of her nursing daughter, Rose said: “Sorry I was so quiet! These filming days are so long and any respite, I feel like this I miss you boys so much. Two sleeps down to go. I hope you’re okay and stay safe during this crazy storm. She can’t wait to go home and get back here.”

It happened when Cyclone Eunice caused chaos across the UK, ripped O2 Arena’s iconic roof “to pieces”, blow over truck on highway and caused travel chaos as more than 430 flights were cancelled.

Hundreds of railway lines were blocked and road bridges were also closed after a rare “no travel” warning was issued across railway lines in England and Wales.
