EastEnders fans stunned by Jay’s creepy ‘floating neck’

EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick looked delighted as he was seen leaving Croydon Nightingale Court.

The 27-year-old star – famous for playing Jay Brown on the BBC soap – was snapped leaving court this week after a judge reduced his driving ban to 56 days.

Dressed in a black blazer and matching trousers, he looked jubilant as he sauntered along, tie in hand and his white shirt unbuttoned.

Last month, Jamie was banned from driving after earning 12 points on his driver’s license for speeding fines.

At the time, The Sun reported that EastEnders bosses were not happy that Jamie – who joined the soap when he was just 12 – was banned from getting behind the wheel of a car.

A source said: “The EastEnders bosses are furious. It does not look good.

“If soap bosses force him to have a driver, then other stars will want the same.”

Jamie recently spoke about battling emetophobia — an extreme fear of throwing up, seeing vomit, watching other people vomit, or even feeling sick.

As a result of his phobia, he has a great fear of germs, he explained on the Lads, Dads and a Couple of Beers podcast.

He said, “I’ve never really spoken about it, but I just have a moment where I’m like, ‘Whatever.’ I have a real disease phobia called emetophobia.

“It really hurts me a lot and it has affected me in many ways. I didn’t want to go out, I didn’t want to shake hands with people. It became a thing about germs and I became quite obsessive about things like that.

“I didn’t want to be in a busy area with a lot of people.

“It just made me very scared, and I didn’t like that at all. I don’t really like being away from home. It started out kind of like that, but as I got older it evolved a bit more into random bouts of anxiety where I just felt awful.

“I felt so insecure. Then it got to a point where it was really frustrating. It stopped me from living my life, it stopped me from going out. I missed opportunities.”

He said: “I managed to seek the right help and it will never go away. I will never be okay when I’m sick. Never. But I just get to a point where I can deal with it and just deal with it the best way I can.”
